I love this campaign by Animal Planet “We’re Not That Different”
Thanks Advertising Is Good For You!
more after the jump
I love the Steakhouse Shroom & Swiss spots for Burger King by Crispin. Don’t think I could ever put something that gross in my body, but the commericals are brilliant.
Enjoy the 3 spots below
I’ve been spedning my day shopping for some promotional items for a client and aboslutely love these sites and the cheesy models.
Most common is the ‘I’ll put my hand in my pockets because thats what you do when your pants have pockets’ look
I love the serious ‘I’m totally modeling this shirt right now’ look
I love this video series by Audi with a family of luxury car owners as their stereotypical owners. Although I’m not sure if Audi is supposed to be normal, they just seem kind of boring.
Here is episode one.
As an industry we fail miserably in our own marketing and advertising. No where is that more epic then in our agency websites. I’ve been working on the agency website redo here, so I’ve been scouring the web for ideas on our own site. Most agencies sites are ridicolously complicated and lame and because who doesn’t love lists so here are some pointers I’v compiled from my research!!
1) Your site should not take more than 2 seconds to load. I don’t care how cool it is 4 mintues later, I don’t have the patience or time.
2) Do not include sound effects. Ever. I don’t care if you have a mute or stop button, if I wanted to listen to a power ballad or techno jam while I looked through your site I would turn on my i-pod.
Wait….so if I use this my flawless digitally perfect skin will get acne?
Someone should inform this designer that we actually read left to right.
The Online Advertising Playbook is a fantastic book for anyone trying to sort out new media. It covers the basics, provides insight through interesting and relevant case studies and won’t bore you to death. I read it for work but actually really enjoyed it.
Here are some of my favorite bits of information- you’ll have to read the book to learn more!
Dear Dunkin Donuts,
I really loved your bacon, egg and cheese bagels, they got be through a lot of really bad hangovers in college. But you don’t exist in San Diego, so I got over you pretty quickly. Microwaving fake egg, fake baconand a slice of cheese all on a bagel is delicious, but not really difficult. I never understood why anyone would drink your coffee- who do you think you are adding cream and sugar for me?!
After spending my first year and a half at college in Connecticut without decent coffee, I walked through an f-ing blizzard the day the first Starbucks opened near campus. That’s right I actually went outside while it was snowing, something I wouldn’t even do for class.
With that being said, I certainly don’t believe your newest ads. But at least they’re better than Rachel Ray!
I just discovered Going Social Now which is a blog out of the newly renamed Razorfish (they dropped the Avenenue A).
Funny video on the disconnect between the modern consumer and traditional advertising. Is this stuff funny if you don’t work in the industry?
