Corky’s.
Written by Erin on November 4, 2008 – 7:38 amAnother example of just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
It looks like they took their full page penny saver ad and tried to make it into banners.
Does Corky’s really get rid of ants in your pants? And for only $69?? Glad they put that in a starburts or I would never be able to find the price within all the copy in the leaderboard. I’m surpirsed the guy isn’t actually dancing with the spiders in his pants.
I can’t even write about the big box ad accompanying it….tragically bad.
I just want to help you Corky’s! Write a comment on this blog and I will help you with your online ads.
Just checked the landing pages for both of these. Leaderboard takes you to the Corky’s homepage, which is actually a good site. The big box ad takes you to this landing page.
Who actually says “$1275 for fumigating this home”?

I am the owner of one of Corky’s competitors, Hearts Pest Management. I won’t say more about the ad in question other than that I agree with you.
I’ve produced what I believe is great copy for my company, but I have nevertheless moved out of all print. Feel free to critique my website style or content. I would truly appreciate your review. My goal has been to present warm, friendly imagery to represent the company to a predominant female audience interested in a people oriented company rather than a company primarily responsible for killing things.
On my site, we don’t try to do silly things to get people to laugh about an uncomfortable topic. Whether we are talking about ants, bees, rats, gophers, parasites, whatever it is, we take a very realistic and informative approach. We present real world pictures and more recently videos to represent true life situations involving pest control.
