Local.

Written by Erin on August 27, 2008 – 2:23 pm

Local automotive advertising is rarely thought of beyond deals, incentives and star bursts. But sometimes local auto ads break through the clutter and bring the auto brand as a whole to a new level. If I lived anywhere near this dealership I would sell my Jetta and buy a Toyota from them.

Trumpets.

Written by Erin on August 25, 2008 – 9:32 am

In college one my roommate and I built an army of peeps outside of our friend’s room during a boring winter afternoon. A small fleet of yellow, pink an blue peeps flooding the hallway. All but one of the fluffy bunnies was knocked over and the lone yellow soldier had a note sticking out of him. “Help“. The scene from their front door was hilarious I swear.

Maybe my strange food humor is why I love these spots so much….or maybe its that they are completely and utterly random.

Bring on the Trumpets!

I aplogize I don’t speak pineapple.

My house has an entire floor for pilates.

Toilet.

Written by Erin on August 15, 2008 – 8:50 pm

By far my absolute favorite stunt – sending a someone dressed up in a toilet costume to run across the field and get tackled to show that Running Toilets are bad. Haha.

Simple. Smart. Brilliant.

Thanks AdFreak.

Horrible.

Written by Erin on August 13, 2008 – 7:11 am

Dr.Horrible that is.

A co-worker passed along the Dr.Horrible sing along blog mini series to me yesterday and I haven’t stopped listening/watching them at work. I heard about the series here and there out in the web but never made the effort to go out and find it.

Joss Whedon is genius.

Neil Patrick Harris is brilliant.

Download them from I-Tunes. I promise it’s totally worth it.

Olympics.

Written by Erin on July 31, 2008 – 1:31 pm

I despise most Olympic advertising. Most of it is cheesy and just slaps the olympic logo down, plays some slow must, pans across atheletes/hosting country, has testimonial from recognizable american athlete and then ends with a “We support the olympics”. Usually the least creative advertising ever.

This, however, is Olympic advertising at its best.  Witty, still olympic themed and still maintains the brands personality. Love it.

British.

Written by Erin on July 17, 2008 – 9:54 am

This is pretty old…but yet still so true.

British take on the media-agency-client relationship.

They forgot the part where the client agrees to everything in the pitch, then reduces dollar amount (but still wants everything from the station/agency), then changes everything and of course cancels with a week before the schedule start date.

I swear I’m not bitter.
