Models.

Written by Erin on October 29, 2008 – 2:06 pm

I’ve been spedning my day shopping for some promotional items for a client and aboslutely love these sites and the cheesy models.

Most common is the ‘I’ll put my hand in my pockets because thats what you do when your pants have pockets’ look

I love the serious ‘I’m totally modeling this shirt right now’ look

Cranky.

Written by Erin on October 3, 2008 – 7:28 am

We all have bad days, personally, professionally and sometimes combined in a masterfully horrible “my life is going to shit” sort of way. I can sympathize with that, bad days suck. But I can’t udnerstand why so many people take that out on other people.

A couple weeks ago as I was pulling into the office parking lot a random woman pulled in next to me. As free parking is sparse in Bankers Hill, I told the woman she wasn’t allowed to park in our as its a private (and tiny) and everyone else would be coming into the office shortly. She huffed, puffed and very rudely said well I’m parking there anyways, I don’t care, tow me if you want. Ugh. All she had to say was I’m just running into the office next door, I’ll be out in 5 mintues (which she was) and I totally would have let her stay. That is if she had said that nicely.

The next worker who came in blocked her car in the lot (as we commonly do to each other) and the woman

Holes.

Written by Erin on September 10, 2008 – 7:46 am

Last night while flipping through the channel I stumbled across the strangest show on Fox. Its called Hole in the Wall and its basically contestants who have to fit themselves through a hole in the wall or else they are pushed into a pool. Some youtube clips refer to it as human tetris…either way strangest show so far this season.

Apparently the show is huge in Japan (go figure) and all over Eurpoe. Check out some clips or just search on youtube for human tetris- trust me its better then you think.

Olympics.

Written by Erin on August 26, 2008 – 10:12 am

My office hosted Office Olympics two Fridays ago. A spirited day of Olympic games (and some work) with each employee representing a country of their choice. We had 8 events from racing around the building with a full coffee cup to who could print something the fastest (it is OFFICE Olympics after all).

I represented Iceland, an amazing country I spent 2 weeks visiting last summer. It’s a gorgeous and intriguing place – if you ever get the chance or just have some time do not pass up the opportunity to go. To represent my country I spent the day wrapped up in my winter coat, a scarf, winter hat, mittens and was dialing the AC down whenever I had a chance.

Amazingly, I ended up with 3 silver medals and placed fourth in the overall Olympic medals.

In the end of the real Olympics this Sunday, the Icelandic Handball Team took silver losing to France in the gold medal game. It was only the 4th Olympic medal the small country has ever claimed (they previously had 1 silver and 2 bronze). YAY Iceland!

I’ll be drinking some Black Death this weekend in celebration :)

You can read more about the Icelandic Handball team from the Washington Post or from Iceland Review.
